Season 2020/21 COVID-19 Update

We hope everyone is doing well in this current climate and you are all staying safe. The club has been working with Monash University, Glen Eira Council, Kingston Council, Cricket Victoria, the Mercantile Cricket Association and the Eastern Cricket Association, towards a return to play as soon as it is safe to do so.

Whilst community cricket, training and matches are not currently permitted in any form in Victoria until the current Stage 4 and Stage 3 restrictions are lifted, the current restrictions are listed to continue until the 26th of October in our location as we are defined to live in the Metropolitan Melbourne area.

Please keep in mind that these are all tentative dates which might change at any time.

Based on the current Victorian Road-map sports clubs might be able to return to train/play during the following steps. We are currently seeking more information and clarity from the State Government regarding these steps.

The Third Step
The State Government currently has this tentatively scheduled for 26th October with the following advice: Outdoor contact and non-contact sport for U18, outdoor non-contact sport only for adults, with gathering and density limits, outdoor fitness for 10 people.

The Last Step
The State Government currently has this tentatively scheduled for 23rd November with the following advice: No exercise restrictions. Facilities open subject to safety measures. Organised contact sports resume for all ages. Limitations for spectators

COVID Normal
No restrictions on community sports or spectators.

Please familiarise yourself with this information at the State Government's website https://www.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covid-19-restrictions-roadmaps.

This means a possible return to training (in groups of 10) in the week starting October 26th and an optimistic possible start to the season on the 14th of November, both of those dates require a lot of things to go well from here, and the best thing we can do is follow the advise given to us.

At this stage the committee is discussing membership structures, and a lot will depend on when we are able to start, so 2020/21 memberships can not be paid as yet. Those who have carried-over your winter membership, will receive an equal value a discount for summer. If you have are a new player you can register your interest to play at this page: https://connectedcommunities.monash.edu/Clubs/Cricket/Groups

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
