Covid-19 Information

Monash University Netball Club is committed to providing its players a safe environment in which all club activities will be conducted. We continue to abide by the current Netball Victoria Return to Community Netball Guidelines and Victorian Government Covid-19 Restrictions.

All Monash University Netball Club members must adhere to the following Covid Safety protocols set out by the Club. Failure to comply with these protocols may result in the membership being suspended or terminated.

Summary of Return to Play Protocols

Sessions

  • Contact training and competition is permitted for adults, in both indoor and outdoor venues.
  • All participants must check-in to Monash Sport and Waverley Netball Centre via the Service Victoria QR codes for entry into both venues.
  • Participants must be fully vaccinated to enter any Monash University venues.
  • Anyone that tests positive after being involved in a netball club activity must notify the netball club. The club will then notify anyone who may be deemed a social contact.
  • Social contacts are recommended to take a Rapid Antigen Test immediately. If the test returns a negative result, social contacts are not required to isolate, however must monitor for symptoms and if possible undertake a Rapid Antigen Test for the next 5 days.
  • The Club will provide hand sanitiser for players to use before, during and after games and training sessions. Each team kit will have their own sanitiser.

Players

  • All members must be registered Netball Victoria members.
  • All members must bring their own water bottle and towel to games and training sessions. Sharing of these items (or other personal items) is not permitted.
  • Players must maintain a good level of personal hygiene (wash hands regularly, wash uniforms after each session) 
  • Arrive dressed, strapped and ready to play. Players will be responsible for their own strapping and taping.
  • Maintain 1.5 metre physical distancing when not participating.
  • Anyone who is unwell should not attend. Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should get tested.

Face Masks

  • Players do not need to wear a face mask during competition or training.
  • Umpires do not need to wear a face mask during competition or training.
  • It is recommended that coaches and team officials wear a face mask where physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • It is recommended that administrators and volunteers (i.e. scorers) wear a face mask where physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Spectators are not required to wear face masks if 1.5 metre physical distancing can be maintained. Face masks must be worn indoors or if 1.5 metre physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • All participants must carry a face mask with them at all times.

Equipment

  • Bibs will be washed after each session.
  • Balls and other training equipment will be sprayed and wiped with single-use antibacterial wipes after each session.
  • Each group/session will have their own set of balls, cones etc to avoid crossover and sharing of equipment.

Operations

  • The Club has appointed two Covid Safety Compliance Officers who are responsible for the implementation and enduring adherence to the above protocols.
  • The Club will accept cashless payments only.
  • The Club will maintain accurate attendance records for all games, training sessions and social events for contact tracing purposes.
