Current Covid Restriction for the Club

The Squash club will reopen under a number of restrictions as outlined by the Victorian Government and Squash and Racquetball Victoria:

  • Participants must maintain 1.5m social distancing.
  • Courts 1-6 have a limit of 33 people.
  • A limit of 4 people are allowed on court at any given time.

Procedures for training

The following is a list of procedures we all need to follow when participating at club training. Each session will be supervised by someone from the committee to provide players with information, assistance and to ensure compliance.

  • All training participants must record their attendance using the following form:
  • All Club members, visitors and participants (except under 16 years of age) must be fully vaccinated for covid (2 doses) or must have a medical exemption from an authorised medical professional. Photo ID and evidence of vaccination status or a medically authorised exception must be carried at all times and be shown to staff when requested.
  • If have any of the following symptoms you should not attend club activities: fever, cough, sore throat and/or shortness of breath. If you have these symptoms, it’s recommended that you contact your local physician and be tested as soon as possible. Consult the Victorian government website for information on testing.
  • If you have recently been overseas or in contact with a COVID-19 positive person, please do not come to club activities until you have taken appropriate quarantine measures, which is a minimum of fourteen days.
  • Maintain 1.5m social distancing.
  • Club members must sign in at the entrance into Monash Sport using student/staff Monash ID card or by scanning the QR code.
  • Club members must wear a mask indoors at all times unless they are playing squash, catching their breath or drinking.
  • At all times there must be no more than 4 people on one court.
  • All squash training participants will need to wash their hands before and after their training session. The club will provide hand sanitizers for this purpose.
  • Players should bring their own equipment where possible.
  • Do not share racquets or other equipment with other individuals.
  • The club will still loan racquets and sanitize them once they are returned.
  • The training session supervisor will sanitize door latches after a training is completed.
  • The training supervisor’s name will be shown on the training schedule.
  • Take it easy while training during the current restrictions! Squash is a non-contact sport and we want to be extra careful to avoid this occurring accidentally. Injuries are to be avoided more so than usual to decrease the likelihood of having to carry individuals off court. Take proactive steps such as stretching to avoid injuries.
  • Do not wipe your sweat on court walls or touch any surfaces that you do not have to.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Cover your mouth with your elbow if you need to cough or sneeze.
  • Don’t shake hands or make any other physical contact with anyone. A physical contact exception can be made to help a seriously injured player as long as hands are washed afterwards.
