Dragon boat is a human powered watercraft with roots originating from an ancient folk ritual in China. A small boat consists of 12 crews and a standard boat 22, including a drummer and a steersperson. The drummer produces the "heartbeat" of the boat while the steersperson is responsible for controlling the direction of the boat. Dragon boat racing takes place over distances of 200m, 500m, 1000m and 2000m.
Currently, we have two Monash students representing the state of Victoria and Australia in local and international competitions.
