Monash Engineering student Edward Marks won last weekends Mountain to Surf in Lorne. The budding young athlete won the Male category of the 8km race in a time of 23 minutes and 40 seconds.

The coastal circuit in known for its steep hills and difficult terrain, but Marks was undeterred and attacked the course head on.

"It feels pretty good," Marks told the media. "I just took the first couple of hills pretty fast, maybe a bit too fast, I felt it later in the race but managed to hold on."
