The 2024 3x3 Basketball competition took place from July 2-4 at the University of the Sunshine Coast. The event featured both men's and women's competitions, showcasing an impressive display of athletic talent.
This year's UniSport Nationals 3x3 Basketball championship also served as the FISU Oceania 3x3 Basketball Qualifiers for the prestigious 2024 World University Cup. The victorious teams from the Division 1 Men's and Women's categories will earn the honour of representing their region in China in 2025, competing against the finest university teams worldwide.
Monash University made a strong impact, competing with four teams: two Men's teams and two Women's teams. The Men's Division 1 team placed 6th, while the Men's Division 2 team secured 8th place. The Women's Division 1 team placed 7th, and the Women's Division 2 team achieved an impressive third place overall, earning a spot on the podium.
Despite facing tough competition, all teams performed admirably, each striving to make their mark on the court. Noah De Bortoli, team organiser and athlete in the Men's Division 1 team, remarked, 'The group as a whole gelled really well, and everyone had an amazing time on and off the court.'
Congratulations to the Women's Division 2 team for securing the bronze medal, and a commendable effort from all the teams who competed in this three-day event.
