Over the last few days, our women’s team went head to head against the University of Queensland, coming out on top with a 10-1 score. However, our men’s team lost to the University of Sydney with a score of 2-9.

Although the competition will be tough for our teams, they are aiming to secure the Bronze medal and hopefully take out their arch rival, the University of Melbourne in response to the team’s loss in the Big Blue varsity Challenge earlier this year.

We spoke to Ellen Walker who is a part of the women’s team about how our Table Tennis team is faring against some of the strongest competitors at the tournament.

“We have some tough competition for the next few days because we play each of them twice”, the Table Tennis player stated.

When asked about her highlight so far at UniSport Nationals, Walker describes the wonderful encouragement from the men’s and women’s team as they “supported each other with cheering and coaching”.

Good luck to our Table Tennis teams as they compete on Wednesday and Thursday. We are astounded with the amount of hard work that goes into our athletes' preparation and training for this competition!
