Monash student and hockey young gun Nathan Ephraums recently made his debut for the Australian National men's hockey team - the Kookaburras - in the International Pro League against Great Britain.
Representing Australia at such a high level is a huge achievement and Monash couldn't be prouder of its young student. Nathan had been a member of the extended squad for quite some time, having previously played in practice matches but nothing worth international points.
The match itself was a thriller, tied at 4-4 after regulation, a shootout was required to separate the two sides. Australia won the shootout 3-1, earning itself the victory.
Nathan came off the bench and played a pivotal role late in the game as the Kookaburra's fought back from a 2-4 deficit to force the shootout.
Congratulations Nathan! We look forward to many more stellar international performances!
