Monash is committed to helping students combine academic success with sporting or performing arts success. We know that for an elite athlete or performer, your ATAR might not accurately reflect your ability and we acknowledge the commitment and time it takes to be at the elite level and how this can affect your studies.
If you're an elite athlete or performer, you may be eligible for Monash University’s Elite Student Performer Entry Scheme.
Additional consideration for up to 10 ATAR points can be given for entry into Monash University undergraduate and graduate degrees to applicants who:
are an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
are recognised as an elite athlete or performing artist by one of the Recognised Organisations (listed below)
meet the prerequisites (and any other published entry requirements) of the course
can demonstrate that they have undertaken elite training, competition and/or performances whilst preparing for entry to Monash University.
Elite athletes are defined as students who:
are competing at a national or international level in a Sport Australia endorsed sport
may be registered with a State institute or academy of sport
may be a member of a relevant national or state sporting association, eg. Cricket Australia, Diving Queensland, Victorian Football League (VFL).
Elite performers are defined as students who:
participate in significant national or international performances, productions, installations, competitions or events.

Please see below for the steps required to apply.
Late applications cannot be accepted.
Step 1: Apply for courses with VTAC
You must have a VTAC id number to be able to apply for the Entry Scheme at Monash. So you first need to ensure you have set up your VTAC account and submitted your Monash University undergraduate degree preferences by the due date(s).
We also encourage students to apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme, Category 1, as you may be eligible for recognition of other factors based on your personal information and location.
Step 2: Submit an online application to Monash
Once you've submitted your course application through VTAC, apply online to Monash directly via the form below (which will be live on Monday August 26), for the Elite Student Performer Entry Scheme.
Please note: the form is most user friendly when completed on a laptop or desktop device, rather than a mobile device.
You will need to complete 2 templates as part of the form and provide a supporting letter from one of the Recognised Organisations (as listed above), specifically your State or National Sporting Organisation, Professional or National League team or Professional Player’s association.
You will receive an email receipt for your application, however you will not be notified of the outcome of your application.
Step 3: Be assessed
Applications will be assessed by a committee against the criteria, where students will be considered for 1 to 10 additional ATAR points. Please note, students will not be notified of the outcome.
Step 4: Wait for offers
If your application is successful, 1 to 10 points will be added to your ATAR and you will be assessed for course entry based on your VTAC application. If eligible, you will receive a conditional offer for the upcoming 2024 Semester 1 intake. The offer will include instructions on how to accept.
Step 5: If successful - ongoing ESPS support and obligations
Successful applicants will be contacted with information on how to be fast-tracked into the Monash University Elite Student Performer Support Program.

Academic performance: On an annual basis Students must maintain their performance discipline level, meet academic requirements, represent the University when available, act as an ambassador for the university and adhere to all University policies and procedures.
