Monash Dance Society

HISTORY

Monash Dance Society (formerly known as Monash Ballroom Dancing Society/MBDS) was founded in 1965 where a small group of students began regular ballroom dancing classes taught by Joan and Keith Collins. In 1998, the name was changed to Monash Dance Sport and in 2020, the name was changed to Monash Dance Society to reflect the diverse range of styles offered. MDS was originally a ballroom dance society but over the years, has evolved to include many styles and now has up to 17 dance styles and 35 classes running each year.
